Overlanders & self-drive

After days on the road, what you want is simple: a flat place for the vehicle, a shower, safe water, a quiet night, and someone who knows the road ahead. That is what we offer, half an hour from Iringa on the road to Ruaha National Park.

The campsite

About the showers. Our showers are naturally cool, which is wonderfully refreshing in the Tanzanian heat. If you would rather have a warm one after a dusty day in Ruaha, just ask — Linah or Aneth will gladly heat a bucket of water for you. Our facilities are basic; our hospitality is not.

There is no Wi-Fi. Most guests find they do not miss it.

Where we are on your route

We sit on the road between Iringa and Ruaha National Park, about 30 minutes from Iringa. Heading into the park, the gate is still roughly 80 km — two to three hours — further on. Coming back from Ruaha, we are the last calm stop before Iringa: wash off the dust, sleep, and drive on rested.

GPS: -7.759022, 35.568609 — look for our sign at the roadside. You will also find us on iOverlander. For the road itself, see our Iringa to Ruaha road guide.

Going into Ruaha from here

Many overlanders leave the camping gear with us and go into the park with our guide Nolasco — more than twenty years of experience, from this region, with his own safari vehicles. Spare luggage stays in our lockable store room. Park fees are included in the quote. See how our Ruaha safari works.

Or stay an extra day and take a motorbike out to the Iringa hot springs at God’s Bridge — half a day, €10 per person.
